Instructor

Meghan Ann is a women’s apparel designer & fashion illustrator based in Fishtown, Philadelphia who has worked for renowned brands such as Free People & QVC. Graduating with a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, Meg’s designs are influenced by vintage elements, natural dyes, and implements of fine tailoring. Having worked in design for the past 3 years in Philadelphia, she utilizes Adobe programs on a daily basis, offering students real-world applicable knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator from concept to production design. As an Assistant Designer, Meg is passionate about sustainability within the fashion industry, tailoring construction, and watercolor painting. Outside of design, Meg can & will speak in length about her love of Richmond, vintage clothing and indie rock bands whenever possible.

HAVE MORE QUESTIONS?

  • Who should take these courses?

We've created these online courses for aspiring fashion designers, sewing/design hobbyists, and dabblers looking to gain some new skills. We offer courses for all levels and welcome beginners to our community.

  • What tools/equipment do I need?

We recommend that students have a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer, as well as a smart phone to upload photos of their weekly classwork and homework assignments. Additional course specific supply lists will be provided with each course.

  • What will my schedule look like for the certificate courses?

Our certificate courses will have a weekly drip schedule that will release that week's lessons, classwork submission prompts, and homework submission prompts. Students will then have access to weekly live office hours via Google Hangouts to speak with their instructor for questions and real-time feedback. Students will be expected to submit their assignments by midnight the evening before the live session. We do not have live sessions on US holidays. You will be given a calendar upon enrollment to check the available dates and times.

  • What will my schedule look like for hobbyist projects and workshops?

Once you purchase our online workshops and hobbyist projects, your schedule is your own. You will not receive a grade, so you can complete each project at your leisure.

  • Will I receive a grade for taking a course?

Only students taking our Certificate Courses will receive grades. Passing grades will count towards Made Institute's Designer Development Program.

  • Is Made Institute a real school?

Yes! We are licensed by the PA Dept. of Education. Our curriculum has been scrutinized and approved by the state to ensure our students are getting a quality education.

  • Does Made Institute offer a degree?

No. While we are licensed as a Privately Licensed School, Made Institute is not accredited. We have found that many of our students are not looking for a degree, but rather an expedited education that will get them closer to their fashion design goals more quickly. Upon completion of the Certificate Courses, students will receive a Certificate of Completion that can be mailed to students upon request.

  • How long will I have access to the course materials?

For Certificate courses check the course description for the enrollment duration. Our hobbyist projects and workshops will be available as long as the student membership is active.

  • How will get feedback on my Final Project?

We offer Critiques throughout the year during the live sessions. Check your welcome email to see when the next one is. These are a great opportunity to formally present your work in an industry style format and get instant feedback!

Live Sessions and Critiques
